Gorilla Genomics Project
Researchers affiliated with the Center for Zoonomics have been using whole-genome data acquired from multiple zoos and generations of gorillas in the AZA population to better understand the population’s genetic health and investigate potential genetic causes of heart disease in captive gorillas.
