The AZA Molecular Data for Population Management Scientific Advisory Group
The AZA Molecular SAG aims to promote best practices applications of molecular data to the management of AZA’s Animal Programs and member animal collections. Group members serve the AZA community by providing technical advice to its members and fostering effective collaborations with the genetics community in ways that benefit sustainable management of zoo populations.
Species360: Zoological Information Management System (ZIMS)
Species360 developed and manages ZIMS, the software used by most AZA-accredited institutions and more than 1,300 organizations worldwide to record and track animal information, including health data. With over 38,000 active users and records on more than 26,000 species, ZIMS is the most comprehensive wildlife knowledge database available.
